The Executive Nomad Podcast
Honest conversations about building an independent life after a corporate career. The wins, losses and lessons.
The podcast has its own home at executivenomad.fm, with every episode, the upcoming recordings and guest bookings.
Most career change conversations focus on changing jobs, promotions or life after redundancy or retirement. This show isn’t.
Every episode is a straight conversation with someone who spent decades inside an organisation and is moving on to build their own thing, using what they’ve learnt to decide what they’ll offer.
Which parts of a long career are worth paying for, and how do you turn them into work you own?
“What do you know that somebody would pay for?”The company name comes off the business card when you leave. The knowledge in your head doesn’t.
“You can lose the title without losing the value.”Why AI makes experience worth more, not less, and where judgement still matters most.
“AI handles the tasks. You bring the judgement.”Advisory work, board seats, workshops and part-time leadership, combined into one working life.
“Is your next chapter designed or accidental?”The first year after an exit is where most people drift. How to decide what comes next on purpose.
“An exit buys you time. It doesn’t buy you a plan.”When the work is yours, where you live comes back to you, whether that means another country or simply staying home.
“Nobody else decides where you work today.”Intimate conversations with Jamie. If you’ve made the move, or you’re helping others make it, come and tell your story.
